A PRACTICAL GUIDE

Keep a copy of your own content.

Start with the platform’s own download or export tools. They can provide an authorized route to your uploads and can cover photos or archives that LinkSave does not support.

YouTube: your uploads and offline viewing

YouTube documents downloads of your own uploaded videos through YouTube Studio, as well as exporting uploads with Google Takeout. These are different from saving other creators’ videos.

Offline viewing inside YouTube and an MP4 you can use outside the app are also different products. Check what your chosen feature allows.

Facebook and Instagram: photos, videos and account archives

Meta provides information download and transfer options through Accounts Center. Choose the account and the media you need, then follow the export process. This is the first place to look for a backup of your own photos or a larger account archive.

LinkSave supports available individual videos, Reels, photos and photo-only posts on Facebook and Instagram. It does not export entire albums or accounts, and some posts do not reveal their full photo count.

TikTok: creator-controlled saving

TikTok offers Save video and Save photo when the creator permits downloads. Its photo-saving workflow can select multiple images. If the save option is unavailable, do not assume the creator has permitted a different download method.

Before making another copy

  • Check that you own the necessary rights or have the relevant permission, including music and material within a video.
  • Check the platform’s terms and whether they permit the method of access. Creator permission alone may not cover platform restrictions.
  • Keep attribution and license records. Downloading does not transfer ownership or create permission to publish, edit or redistribute.
  • Prefer your original project files for editing. A downloaded platform version may have been compressed or resized.

Public availability, personal use and educational use are not automatic permissions. LinkSave cannot verify your rights or grant an exception to another service’s rules.
